People often ask me if I receive massage therapy regularly. I usually receive a massage once a week. I have discovered that is what my body needs to function optimally. I love, love receiving massage therapy. Today, I was reminded of something very cool so I thought I’d share. I’ve been not sleeping as well because my baby is teething so my body feels the strain of sleeping awkwardly and being up throughout the night. I went in to receive a massage and I just told her what was bothering me, my occiput (the base of my skull) and my left hip and I left the rest up to her. When you allow a massage therapist to find his/her groove and allow them to listen to your body, their skill and talent beautifully emerges. I could feel she was grooving as she felt the rhythm of her own energy and mine colliding. She found just the areas that needed extra attention whether it was rocking, compression, stretching, or good ol fashioned gliding massage strokes. I merely laid there and received, all while breathing deep and continually going back to clearing my mind of any thoughts. While I was only on the table for an hour, because of the space I was in my mind, it felt so long and so perfect! Go get a massage!
