If you’re like me, transitioning to sleep is not always easy. I have developed a few things that really help so I thought I would share with you.
- 432Hz Music. You can find this on YouTube or Spotify. Here’s a link to the list I use.
- Fold in using a hot pillow into your nightly routine. It’s even safe to sleep with these pillows. I make a hot pillow for each of my kids every night and I often just slip it under their covers to keep them warm. The heat connects with your sensory receptors giving your brain a bottom-up message saying it’s ok to relax. You can purchase them in my store here. Then take my online class to learn how to use them effectively. However, the heat alone is very powerful.
- I really like to diffuse or smell the 2 scents together of lavender & vetiver. You can purchase these at local places like Cheryl’s Herbs or Forest & Meadow. Please make sure you are safe to be around these powerful herbs before using.
- Lavender & Chamomile tea. The warmth and the herbs will help soothe your nervous system and calm your mind. Again, check to make sure these herbs are safe for you. And you can also purchase in loose bulk at the above local herb shops or in pre-made tea bags in your local grocery store.
- Lastly, develop and hone your nightly routine and covet it as sacred. It’s important to let your body gently descend into to relaxation. Switching from tension to relaxation over the course of 30-60 minutes will be more sustainable than trying to simply flip a switch.
Sleep is sacred in our house. Never wake a sleeping person if you can help it. The process is just as important as the act itself.
Here’s to happy sleeping.
