Thai Yoga Massage Endurance

I was recently talking to a friend about doing a Yoga Immersion program (aka Yoga Teacher Training) and she was hesitant to commit because she needed to “increase her yoga endurance.” This struck me as funny. The way I understood the intention an immersion program was to increase endurance. Naturally, some knowledge of yoga is important going into an immersion program. But if you look at that, what does that actually mean? Endurance? You can do 10 down dogs in 30 minutes? The idea of yoga endurance for an immersion program seems silly but maybe that’s my opinion. Now, I’m aware that what she meant was she needed to be doing yoga more frequently before she committed to an immersion program. Can I just challenge your brain for a moment?? What if, we just jumped in and let the endurance come during the immersion?? Why is it so hard for us to merely accept where we are in the present moment? If we wait, until we’re ready, we’re never going to get there. Just like parents are never prepared enough for a baby and how you’ll never run a marathon if you don’t start training.

We also hear this “logic” when it comes to receiving Thai Yoga Massage. We see all the crazy pictures of people being stretched in every way and think, “whoa my body doesn’t do that!” Well, it doesn’t because it’s likely you haven’t moved like that before now. In Thailand, traditional Thai Massage is going to feel WAY different to our American bodies because we don’t culturally move the same way they do. Because we’re Licensed Massage Therapists, we’re trained to recognize the limitation of your body.  You’ll progressively get to where you feel more limber and more mobile. That is the point of Thai Yoga Massage, to increase mobility. Sometimes I think about only sharing the photos of what Thai Massage looks like in the treatment room but it wouldn’t look like much is happening. That’s because we know that every body is a different stage of mobility and flexibility. It doesn’t always look like the super-bendy flexible pictures you see when you google Thai Yoga Massage.

You can receive Thai Yoga Massage at any stage of your mobility. We can work with your goals AND we will meet you right where you are–in the exact divine spot you’re intending to be today. Take the challenge, schedule your Thai Yoga Massage Today.
