A few weeks ago, I shared a very personal story with you that has been a challenge to accept in my life. Today, I’m going to share some very exciting news with you! Around April 2014, I’m going to have a little baby! My husband, myself, and my step-daughter are all very thrilled! The journey of being pregnant for the first time while simultaneously attempting to care for my ailing mother has been quite the challenge with many ups and downs. In the grand scheme of everything, I really think I’m handling it all quite well! I have always wanted to be a Momma and I’m happy to report, everything with our Baby Bean is developing very well!
If you have been in the studio lately, you have probably noticed my growing mid section and more than likely, we’ve talked about it. With all of that conversation, I’ve been asked a lot of the same questions. I thought I would share some of those frequently asked questions with you.
- How can you still do Ashi while growing a bigger belly?
People really seemed to be concerned about my ability to continue to do DeepFeet Bar Therapy while pregnant. I assure you, everything is fine! In fact, my teacher who I have studied under has 8 children and she kept doing Ashi up until about a week before she delivered. Also, Ashi has seemed to be so much easier to practice than hands-on massage. I’ve been doing aerial activities, yoga, and mind/body awareness for somewhere around 10 years. I’m more aware about where my feet, hands, head, heart, and center of gravity are than you may think.
Sure, I will need to make some modifications as I grow into my new body but have no fear, I am safe and so are you! I have been feeling great and actually being active is way better for me than not moving at all!
Plus, the added weight will allow for more pressure, if that’s what you prefer! If not, I really don’t mind the arm workout!
- What are you going to do when the baby comes?
Do not fret! I will not leave you hanging! I’m in the process of providing the best options with the best massage therapists for you while I’m out recovering and adjusting to my new life. After I get this question, I almost immediately get asked this question:
- Are you sure you’re coming back to work?
YES! I couldn’t live without doing massage! I look forward to seeing my clients and hearing what is going on in your life and encouraging your progress to discovering your wellness potential! When I haven’t seen someone for awhile, I notice when they are gone and look forward to their next session. Not to mention, massage is my livelihood and as much as I would love to have a limitless income, (it’s on it’s way but hasn’t arrived just quite yet..right? 🙂 that’s just not the case and I rely on my practice to keep my family fed! And, I’m pretty sure when that limitless income arrives, I’ll still do Ashi in some way or another!
