I have been doing a lot of 2 hour sessions recently and I LOVE them. And I especially love the combo of mat based (some people call this Thai massage) and a table session.
The mat session gives you mobility and range of motion while also informing me of what needs some massage and gliding strokes on the massage table. And then in finished with an hour of relaxing and deep massage that sends you out the door feeling “put back together.” <– clients words, not mine.
It’s the best of both worlds.
The session is both energizing and relaxing. You get moved around and to relax. Passive stretching and active stretching and some squishing and some atmosphere.
I realize not everyone has the time for a 2 hour session or the funds to do it regularly. But I highly suggest folding it into your current treatment plan.
Remember, you’re in charge of your treatment plan. I will give guiding advice but it ultimately comes down to what you have time for and what you can afford.
