We have had a few people ask some pretty detailed questions about why we have decided to switch to a membership structure and move away from the packages.
Planning– Let’s face it. We are running a business here. I do my best to be as transparent as possible. I believe that’s super important especially with the nature of our business. You trusting us to feel safe is most important for your ability to relax. The last thing you should feel is duped, sold, or taken advantage of. However, it’s very important for us to feel the same way. With a structure like the membership, we can have a better picture of what to expect in the way of incoming revenue and where we need to focus our energy. I cannot express how much more at ease I feel now that I have a better idea of how much business we have and how much more we need. This will also show us where we have the space to focus for the future. What kind of classes we can take based on the needs of our clients or what kind of extra “add-ons” we can provide. There is one add-on that I want to get that I’m super excited about but it costs a pretty penny. I am pretty confident that most of you would totally dig it. Smooth Scheduling – Before, if you had a package of 75 minute massages, we had to find a time that specifically held a 75 minute spot. Now that we have the flexibility that everyone is set up on a base time of 60 minutes and we can add time per appointment, you’re not locked in to only receiving a certain amount of time. Would you like to get in sooner and receive a 60 minute session or wait potentially a month for a spot that accommodated a 75 minute session? Now you have the choice!
More Options – Much in the same vein of the above post, you now have the option to switch up how much time you receive. And because we don’t charge by add-on service, the session is truly yours. The membership seems simple but there is a lot of room to customize it. We have one client who doesn’t want to come in monthly but instead, wants to receive a 2 hour massage every two months. Sure thing! We have another client who wants to purchase gift certificates for the holidays so she plans to utilize her 2 gift certificate purchases perk for the next several months to stock up on gifts. Which, also comes back as referral credits to use towards more massages, products, or some classes. We also have a husband and wife that wish to share the membership. The membership is not shareable but there is a way around it. This is a little more tricky to explain via words but if you have any questions, we are happy to explain.
Committing to your wellness– Here is what we know: When you receive massage therapy on a regular basis, your body functions better. It’s as simple as that. We have always wanted to be a place that supported that for you. I cannot tell you how often I hear someone say that just merely having a massage scheduled, changes the course of their day or their week. With the membership, you know that you have at least 1 60 minute massage waiting for you to redeem whenever is best for you.
We take care of it for you – There’s pretty much nothing to manage on your end. Maybe if you get a new credit card number, you could let us know but even if you don’t, when it comes time to process your card on the date you chose, if something isn’t working properly, it alerts us. We would then follow up with you and all is right in the world again. We let you know how much you owe (if you have extra time) and if you want us to use the same card as your membership, then there’s nothing you have to do. We run it after you leave. That way, you can focus on staying relaxed and float on home. All of your information is stored safe and secure.
In the beginning, we, too, were a little hesitant because the structure was very different than what we were used to. Now, that we’ve gone through a few cycles, we have found that the membership is such a good option for us. It really clears up any confusion and all of our policies are simply stated and easy to refer to. As we have always shared, we are happy to answer any and all questions or thoughts you may have.
