Fall is upon us!
Finally…the second summer always sends me into a bit of spiral emotionally as I am looking forward to cooler mornings and fires in my backyard.
I woke up this morning to the windows open and a little chill as I walked my kids to the bus stop. *excitement*
However that also means, sniffles and “sick season.” This year feels a bit anticipatory as more of the world is open and moving..thus more germs are moving around.
The pandemic highlighted our need for each other, what was important to us and how quickly and easily germs do spread. For me, this major global event brought forward the value of health and well being. I had really hoped that the pandemic would change some of our fundamental behaviors around staying healthy. Mostly, I had hoped people would learn to stay home when they aren’t feeling well.
As production remains the focus of our culture and health remains ancillary and hopeful..meaning most people are hoping for good health. I see more people being forced to return to work even when sick.
I’m here to say, your health is important to me and if you are sick, please stay home. I realize and have great empathy for those who cannot stay home when sick. As a small business owner, I get that to my very core.
If you feel like you’re “fighting something off” please consider rescheduling. I realize a massage may sound like a nice treat when you’re feeling crummy, but the best thing you can do is rest.
Your body will function optimally when you can rest and hydrate properly when you are exposed to illness. Massage therapy is helpful to your immune system before exposure to assist your body in fighting any intruders.
Receive massage before you get sick. Stay home when you’re exposed or experiencing symptoms.
Let’s make a pact–a pinky promise–We’ll alert one another when the other is feeling less than great and we’ll find another time to come together. I’ve really been reconsidering my relationship to my schedule and inviting more flow and flexibility into it. I hope you are finding ways to invite that in as well.
FREE Foot Soak in September & October
A few weeks ago, I had a client request a foot soak during her appointment, and I totally spaced on having it ready. My fault–I despise when I make those human errors. hah!
To accommodate my guilt and shame, I’m passing the benefit on to you.
All table-based appointments scheduled online will have the option to add on a foot soak at no cost.
