Earthing, Grounding, or as I like to call it Grass Therapy is a process that connects the body to the Earth’s energies via our Root Chakra. To do this is simple, simple as walking, sitting, or laying in the grass. I have found the benefits of this to be powerful.
The Earth has a negative ionic charge. Having our bare feet touching the ground connects us to this therapeutic charge. Our bodies pull electrical energy from our feet in the form of free electrons. The electrons flow into the body, balancing and maintaining it to the electrical potential of the Earth. This is similar to standard electronic equipment. The equipment needs a stable ground to function well, our bodies also need to be grounded to function well. Studies has proven this, that Grass Therapy restores our bodies natural internal electrical stability with promoting healing, reducing inflammation, reducing stress, reducing anxiety and helping with insomnia. Sounds good to me!
To get started, find your spot to stand, sit or lay down in the grass. Remove your shoes and socks. You want to do your best to clear your mind. Have a focus on what is in front of you, this helps with quieting the mind. Plan on spending just a few minutes doing this up to 30 minutes, whatever flows best with your schedule. My experience with Grounding has been feeling a warm, tingling sensation and a feeling of relaxation and well-being.
The energy from the earth can help you live a healthier, happier life and I think this is the ultimate goal. Just like receiving massage therapy on a regular basis is good for the mind, body and soul, the same applies to this.
